Try putting your phone in low power mode and turn on do not disturb. I found this suggestion on YouTube and tried it out yesterday in 95° heat and had no problems.

I don't know how you can put the phone in a freezer and use it anyway. Wouldn't the screen get all fogged up by humidity condensation, because it's cooler the the outside temp.

It would also be tough climbing into the freezer to control the drone.
