Mission Hercules
Location - Bailey Park in Sayreville, NJ (Take South Minisink Rd. off of Washington Ave. after going under the train bridge the park is on the right. Drive to the very back.
Get views of Bailey Park in Sayreville and the pond there where a train crash was staged long ago for a silent movie. Fly over the tree lines for views of what’s left of the Hercules Explosives Plant. They plan on developing the site soon , but for now the ruins still remain and the extensive railroad track system can be seen. The Conrail service line runs along the park , but is rarely used.
While this is a township park, it is mostly abandoned. There is a swing set and nothing more. In the event of any issues, our back up location will be just outside of the Old Bridge waterfront park (north of the parking lot)
In order to be able to continue to fly at Bailey Park, we must avoid the residential area on the north side of the park outside the railroad tracks.
