I just finished this video featuring Julian CA, a small town in the mountains of eastern San Diego County

Though it's not a ghost town, this former mining town has many historic buildings, great scenery, and a chance to tour an authentic gold mine from the 1870s.

Julian is very cool. The wife and I go there from time to time just to walk around and enjoy the yesteryear ambiance.
Beautiful drive from Orange County once you get off the freeway.

Yeah, my wife and I love it too. As long-time San Diego residents, we've made many day trips to Julian over the years. We'd always talk about "someday" staying at the hotel, but for never got around to it until a few years ago. Now we take overnight trips there several times a year.

Julian does get crowded on weekends and holidays, so I'm glad we're in a position to visit during the week.
