Las Vegas general requirements

Hi all, new user, new member. I bought a MAVIC mini for my Son however, I am now the owner.............. Anyhoo, I am off to Vegas for a month soon and whilst I have read the FAA rules I am looking for specifics to shooting locations. ie, the strip. I haven’t looked at the proximity to airports from the strip so that any answer my Q But what about Heli Pads and general privacy issues over resorts and casino‘s.
I understand how to register the drone (even though its 249grams) I would likely register it anyway.

Launching or flying anywhere near “the strip“ is going to attract too much negative attention, don’t do it.
There are lots of other interesting places to fly in or near Vegas away from the tourist areas

The strip never closes... doubt if you can legally fly there. Check the sectionals. Likely the drone will not even take off.

It will take off with self-authorization at most. That's how the drone ended up landing at the airport last year:

Given that you are not supposed to fly over people or busy roads, I can't see where you could safely fly on the strip. When flying you need to think of worst case scenario and on the strip the risk is not worth the gain.

Since you will be there for a month you can hopefully find time to explore the desert around Vegas. There should be many great flying opportunities out there.
