A short film of Lennox Castle just north of Glasgow, Scotland. Considering it’s history, this is a bit of an eerie place on a misty, grey autumn morning. Some appropriately spooky music from Eric Matyas.
For info: In 1927 the castle was purchased by Glasgow Corporation for £25,000, together with 1,222 acres of the Lennox Kincaid estate, as part of its plans to create a hospital for the mentally-ill. It has also been used as a nurses home and a maternity hospital. The hospital closed in phases from the 1990s until 2002, and all the buildings were then demolished, with the exception of the A-listed castle, to make way for housing. Celtic Football Club began building their Lennoxtown Training Ground on part of the site in 2006. The abandoned castle was badly damaged by fire in 2008.
