Q: On July 9th when the pause for the Trump reciprocal tariffs ends, what will be the new rate for China? That's insane price gouging!
It's probably just the seller temporarily putting a crazy high price that no-one will pay as a place holder on his ebay ad, rather than cancelling it.That's insane price gouging!
Yeah, I get it, and an extreme stacked tariff could make a Chinese import 2.7x the original price – more than your AI example! Nevertheless, why the heck is the seller shown in the original example asking more than an all-in tariff price now (pre-staked tariffs)?! DJI stock is low in the US, but who in their right mind would pay >$9k for an M4P?Q: On July 9th when the pause for the Trump reciprocal tariffs ends, what will be the new rate for China?
AI: China's tariff situation regarding the Trump reciprocal tariffs is a bit more complex than the July 9th deadline for most other countries
.
Important Notes:
- Temporary Suspension: China's country-specific reciprocal tariff rate was suspended until August 12, 2025. This suspension began on May 14, 2025.
- Current Rate: During this suspension period, imports from China are subject to the 10% baseline reciprocal tariff rate.
- August 12th Deadline: If no further agreement is reached with China by the August 12th deadline, the reciprocal tariffs on Chinese goods may revert to a higher rate. According to one source, this could be 34%.
Therefore, while the July 9th deadline is crucial for many countries, the reciprocal tariff rate for China is currently 10% and will remain so until at least August 12th, unless new developments arise.
- This 10% rate is in addition to other existing tariffs, including a 20% tariff on certain fentanyl-related goods.
- Some sources suggest that the tariff rate on Chinese goods could go as high as 145%if additional agreements are not made by August 12th.
- The situation is dynamic, and further modifications to the tariff rates could occur depending on ongoing trade negotiations between the US and China.
Interesting. Shady selling tactic. It's probably just the seller temporarily putting a crazy high price that no-one will pay as a place holder on his ebay ad, rather than cancelling it.
This is common on ebay.
It's not a shady selling tactic at all.Interesting. Shady selling tactic.
Yeah that's close to $6k after tax and that seller apparently is in the US so ship and sold by that seller (not Amazon); I'm getting nervous, these prices are creeping up.Saw the standard fly more on Amazon (of all places) with a 2 day delivery for $5400
And that is way overpriced.Saw the standard fly more on Amazon (of all places) with a 2 day delivery for $5400
For sure, there are several in the 700 and 800 dollar price range with "buy it now" where the title says from Japan but the scammer is located in China with a new (0) rating. Some of these are even CC. All of them say "no worries, the fees and duties and tariffs are already included in this price."For the fun of it I went looking for a M4Pro on Ebay - SSOOOOO many scammers it's scary
