Pairing Controller to Aircraft. If youve upgraded to Smart Controller, the Fly app use instructions and drone interface should not change. Cant say from experience. If pairing an on hand MA2 controller with a new barebones Mini 2, the aircraft interactions are your guess. Finding instructions on DJI.com is like convincing a Democrat to debate on facts.

How to connect DJI Mavic Mini to remote?
Step 1: Turn on the drone and wait until the system is up and running.
Step 2: Turn on the remote control
Step 3: Press the drone battery power switch until the first beep (if the threat beeps twice, it's too long). Now the Mavic Mini is in "pairing mode". [interject: "threat", I dunt knowd whut threat the writter is speaking of.]
Step 4: Simultaneously press the red button and the two programmable buttons (Pause (red button), Fn and C1 (top right behind the camera button) until the LED on the remote control turns green. Do not release the three buttons until the LED on the remote control is permanently green! Hold the remote control very close to the drone (approx. 20 cm) while coupling.
Step 5: Now the drone is paired with the remote again.
Step 6: To pair your phone with the remote, you'll need to select the remote in your phone's wireless settings.
