good morning,

after any assistance on why my air2s dropped out of the sky like a stone and is now in davy jones' locker :(

i did have trouble a couple of days ago, trying to land but the drone would only descend a couple of metres at a time, i would have to return the stick to the neutral position and the pull down again.

regards,
gareth

p.s. first time poster, not a lot of experience with the drone, so if i've done something incorrect please let me know.

A big welcome to the forum from the UK! Sorry to learn of the loss of your drone.

There’s some expert analysers of text logs on the site, who will be sure to help 👍

is this what i should have included?
Your recorded flight data doesn't show any "smoking gun" evidence of the cause of the incident.

There were no abnormalities in the data before it just ends with the drone in stable flight, 270 metres out and 33 metres higher than the launch point.
The pitch, roll and yaw data don't show any sign of a collision.

I'm not sure how old the battery was, but it had only been charged 10 times.
It was fully charged at the start and had plenty of charge when the data ends.

When a flight suddenly ends with no clues in the data like that, it's an indication that the issue was caused by a sudden power loss.

Battery came loose? Maybe wasn't seated properly?

thanks for the reply. i haven't had the drone out too often, which is why the battery has only been charged 10 times (i have 3 batteries, whoops, i mean i had, now i have 2...)

it all happened pretty quickly. there may have been something about lost transmission or something similar.
There were no messages in the flight data, which is exactly what happens when the power is suddenly cut.
Then your screen usually turns to a black and white picture with a red msg up top of screen saying signal lost.
But the reason the signal is lost is because the drone lost power.

Sorry for your loss, it's strange how often these mishaps happen over water. Guess they get posted more often because recovery is not possible and cause left in doubt. Hopefully you'll be flying again soon, with a different drone of course.

Yes, thank you!

I agree with what @Meta4 shared above. The cause appears to be a sudden loss of power. All of the data looks normal right up until the end of the flight.

The battery had only 10 charge cycles, so it was either relatively new or not used frequently if you've had it for a while. Do you remember anything unusual about the battery? Was it swollen or possibly damaged?

Would the Emergency Shut off while using the flight sticks appear as such in the flight log?

Yes. That did not occur according to the logged data.
