Practice what to do if you start to get in trouble, such as landing immediately if heading uncontrollably into a tree.
I facilitate a workshop and I am floored many have not figured out their sticks.
Over a week ago we had some wind with participants flying new drones. One had his heading into a tree at about 15ft up. I kept shouting "land it" but he didn't hear me. It hit the tree and we never found it. From where I was it looked like it might have tumbled out of the tree but we didn't see it on the ground and the owners were sure they saw it in the tree. My dad got a ladder and looked but it wasn't where they were sure they saw it.
Better to land it somewhere somewhat safe than stuck somewhere in a tree where you can't see it.
