Just tested the newfound ability to fly into Authorization Zones w/o getting permission and my Mini 4 Pro flew right through the area where I've gotten probably 100 permissions in the past, but this time, NO PROBLEM! FREE AT LAST. I fly under 250, in this area, but we have very few planes flying by this low. Hope, because I'm a regular airlines client, that the Feds get it together to protect aircraft from the nutjobs out there. If I had my choice though, even though I like the new freedom, I would prefer to see that airspace is protected as it was in the past. I **** well don't want to see ANY clowns flying side by side with passenger airplanes, something I saw in the early days of DJI.

The government will not do anything to protect a manned aircraft from drones. Neither will the aircraft manufacturer. It's way too costly and it's way too easy to blame the drone and demonize the drone. IMO, in reality, they wouldn't know how to do it even if they set their mind to it. If they had known how, they would have done it already.

Not trying to be harsh but bottom line is the government doesn't care if your airplane strikes a drone. They'll just deal with it when and after it happens. Again just my personal opinion but if it were up to me, things would be different. I prefer we stop dealing with the same tired problems for decades on end. Anyway, enjoy your new freedom; I know us drone operators continue to fly as safe as we possibly can regardless of the restrictions and do our best to prevent accidents but just like all other vehicles on the planet, unfortunate accidents can and will happen. It's just sad when it is so preventable.

The government is to busy staging DEI plays in Guatemala, and ruining women's athletics to bother if a Mavic or two fly into an aircraft taking off at O'Hare.

Given the landing speed of a two-seat, Cessna 152 is around 75mph, I don't think this is much of a concern.

The worry is some jackarse getting in the flight path and causing a head-on collision.

Please avoid politics. People have opinions across the spectrum, posting any simply invites an argument. To be fair, everyone would be allowed their say. This would become a political debate site.

Nothing of my views can be implied by this post other than I really don't want politics polluting my drone fun. Just like I don't want it infecting football. Lifetime fan until the kneeling started. Superbowl was the first game I've watched in a decade.

What does politics have to do with it? Ironic how you call him out for a humorous post, and then engage in the same type of humor, referring to kneeling in football. I found his post funny, not argumentative, and apolitical. I find your statement about football equally unoffensive. De gustibus non est disputandum.

Okay.

Pro-DEI folks, post your arguments too. @GadgetGuy likes this stuff on a drone forum.
