Film of the drone flight over the Möhnedam in Germany. This dam is known from the war movie "Dambusters" as part of Operation Chastise. The purpose of this operation was to blow up this dam by means of specially developed bombs. This successful operation took place on the night of 16 to 17 May 1943.

Did you know that Barnes Wallis who invented the bouncing bomb also made the lesser known earthquake bomb a ten-ton bomb that would exploded 130 feet underground basically causing a 3.6 magnitude earthquake that could destroy concrete structures like the V2 factory's

A very enjoyable video. Well done. The Brits tried to use conventional bombs which failed to blow up the dam. The special bomb was developed in the shape of a 55 gallon drum dropped from a bomber that was at specific distance and altitude.The bomb was dropped spinning, skipped on the water and when it hit the dam it exploded and worked as designed

Sorry, hate to be nit-picky, but the bouncing bomb was designed to hit the dam and then roll down the face of the dam before exploding. The shockwave from the explosion amplified the amount of damage.
