I tried to fly yesterday, with my s24 ultra for the first time. updated everything took off and the drone flew sideways into the wall. I had this problem with my mini 2 after I bought a new s21 a few years ago and cant remember how I fixed it. any help would be greatly appreciated. I dont want a fly away situation.

I have heard of this! Did you download your app thru a "store" and not DJI?

Sounds like your compass didn't match the direction the drone was facing at takeoff..if so, magnetic interference. Did you calibrate the compass before flight and/or takeoff in proximity of metal, rebar, vehicles, etc.? Upon liftoff the drone becomes confused about where it's supposed to be and flies to points unknown, often at high speed.

Problem solved!!! I deleted the app from the phone and downloaded from DJI and everything is back up and flying!!!!

Your problem had nothing to do with the app or the phone.
People guessing at that were incorrect

Your drone's gyro takes it's initial directional information from the compass.
But you powered up somewhere with magnetic interference that caused your compass to read incorrectly.
As the drone rose from the launch point, it left the magnetic field and returned to reading normally.
But the gyro sensor can't and the problem began.

You need to avoid launching from spots where this can happen.
The most common situation for this is launching from reinforced concrete surfaces.
Can you describe the spot where you powered up the drone?
