New member with first drone (Mini 3). I'm curious if the drone stays at the same height throughout mastershots. Not concerned about it going higher but don't want it to drop down and clip a tree or something. Any help would be appreciated!!

I have done many of these, I always make sure when I start I am above my surroundings, then it goes well. One thing to note is that if you begin a mastershot too high in altitude and it reaches the maximum you have set, the shot will end abruptly.

What is the actual flightpath of a Mastershot (Mini 3 Pro)? Say I position the drone at 30m /100ft height and 30m/100ft straight ahead of my POI. How much space does the Mini3 Pro need from this position for the Mastershot sideways / backwards / forwards / upwards? If I knew I would use it more - even some hints would help. Like I just learned that it does not go below that starting hight (very useful piece of info)

I've started using Mastershots - it does a WAY better job than I've been able to do manually. Here is the flight path of a recent flight I did over an old Forest Service lookout - I did two different tries at Mastershots to get different mountains in the background. You can see it went out a max of 399' and the max altitude was 259' - I probably started the drone at about 50'. Hope that helps a little bit.

Thank you so much Rwilliam99. I highly appreciate it!. Assuming the longest straight line is the first move back&up the shot starts with. it seems I need most space „backwards“ and „left“ of the starting point but none on the right. Great!

In my case, I didn't have any obstacles above the drone at all - I started it above the trees and there were no other obstacles around. I would just say to keep a close eye on your drone while it is doing it, being prepared to abort the mastershots if you think it might get into trouble.
