This is my last post of the day, I promise! It's about being gentle when you apply lens filters.

When installing your lens filters, you should so it with the power off. No question about it. If you do it with the power on, and try to steady the gimbal, it will fight you to maintain its position, and you could end up with a fried gimbal motor assembly and a limp gimbal. Even when you put a filter on with the power off, be careful not to stretch the gimbal outside of its normal travel limits.

Peace.

Thanks for the tips, Rob! Nobody of us guys wants a „limp gimbal“, I guess *giggle*

Omm, you always save the day for me. I cant believe that I have been using the English language my whole life, but I still need an interpreter to help people understand me!

Hats off to you @old man mavic and, as usual, thank you for your help.

I imagine the same caution applies to the Mavic Air. Even with power off, I was spooked at the amount of torque required to unscrew the bezel. I wonder if anybody's made a jig that holds the gimbal steady while you're doing that.

hey son wait for me ?

I remember the old one about birth control and putting a pebble in your shoe because it would make you limp. I'm an English teacher and I still need help too, Rob, no worries.
From people's varying abilities and the (mostly) lower standards on most forums, I don't think we have to worry much.

I thought it was glued on, when I first tried to unscrew it. I realized that it was a bit easier when I tried to turn it more in the opposite, „fixed“ position first... felt like it loosened a bit.
