I like to fly at dusk and rely on the map and the drone lights to find the drone when in close for landing.
What is going on because the front red lights are lit until the drone is up higher and the landing light turns off.

When I toggle the ‘turn on arm lights’ in GO4 in advanced settings, they still remain off. They will turn on when the Drone is closer to the ground and the landing light is then on again.

Anything I should be doing?
Maybe this is where I need to check.

If your Mavic 2 Pro's front arm lights are off during flight, it most likely indicates that you have "Discreet Mode" activated on your drone, which is a setting designed to minimize the visibility of the drone's lights for stealthy flying; simply disable Discreet Mode in the DJI Fly app to turn the front arm lights back on.

Upon checking I can not see other Discreet mode, just turn on Arm lights, which works on the bench, on/off/on

With mine, the front red LED's turn off whilst in flight when the camera is recording video.

When I fly late dusk or night, I use one of those flat head torches cyclists wear placed on the ground, facing directly up and set to strobe. It acts as a landing/home point beacon and can easily be seen from an alt. of 400'.

I think that is it. I was recording the dynamic lighting. And as it got more darky, I didn't turn off the video. Looking forward to next time.

Purchase a couple firehouse strobes for it. The built-in arm lights are basically just to show the status. They really aren't made to make the drone visible, especially during daylight. At night you need additional strobes (in the US) to meet the lighting requirements anyway. They certainly improve the visibility during the daylight as well.

Just a heads up. The Mavic 2 Pro uses the DJI Go 4 app.
