Does this aircraft allow simultaneous shooting pics while recording video yet? I've used the search function and found lots of older threads but nothing about the M2P (yet).

Even if it does work, it won't actually take a photo.
It will just save a frame grab from the video.
And you can easily do that as much as you like in the computer anyway.
I don't understand why it's still not possible with DJI.
It's not just DJI, it's almost every camera (I think one of Panasonic's might do it?)
Processing and writing video files on the fly takes a lot of effort.
The cameras just can't pause and do what's required for a real still and go back to the video without losing some.

Everything ive seen that takes a photo while recording just screen grabs its own video. So you may as well do it yourself.

Its far less useful anyway, substantially less resolution, less dynamic range, more heavily compressed JPG than a raw. Plus if you have the correct ND/shutterspeed for motion blur, your photo will be blurred!

I just found out that the Mavic air does not allow this either :(
I am spoiled by may inspire 2 which does allow it.
Are you sure about the Inspire?
Check the resolution you get from the stills taken while videoing.
They are likely to just be frame grabs from the video just like you can get afterwards in the computer.
If so, they are significantly less resolution that you get shooting real stills.
