Mavic 3 Pro - Still an Exciting Drone

Most of us are guilty of the same gullibility thinking that just because a new version of a gadget is released the one we have is only good for the scrap yard. Not true at all. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the M3P and if not crashed or otherwise damaged it will remain a great drone for years to come, capable of producing amazing stills and videos.
or if you need 24mm, something the Mavic 4 Pro fails at big time!

True! I kept my M3P after getting the M4P and the most primary advantage is the 24mm camera. The 24mm makes for a better flight experience since you have more peripheral vision, and yes that translates to advantages in photography and video as well.
Secondly, my M3P can fly twice as high as the M4P (1.0 km height limit vs 0.5 km on M4P). It could be my particular firmware, but it's definitely a thing and nice to be able to get that high when in mountain valleys.
There should be no difference in maximum height. 500m was the max, but all Mavic 3 series and Mavic 4 series are supposed to now be 1000m.
Yeah I figured that would be a controversial statement. It just simply has been the case that my Mavic 4 Pro from Korea with the latest firmware update has never been able to go above 500m (~1640 ft). On a recent trip to the middle of nowhere in Class G/E airspace, the M4P still maxed out at 500m (to be clear the slide bar will go no higher than that, it is not a set limitation), while the M3P still goes to 1km.

I have a DJI 1000m Custom Unlock for altitude from DJI that is supposed to bypass the bleed-over of the 50km radius 500m altitude limitation from the Tijuana airport in MX where their GEO still affects flying in the U.S..even though our GEO has been removed.
I can't get it to work on any aircraft, including my Adorama sourced Mavic 4 Pro. When it is turned on and HP is acquired, I still cannot increase the slider beyond 500m either. I'm also not about test it by trying to fly above 500m where that would exceed 400 feet AGL! Perhaps the slider is irrelevant when the unlock is turned on. There are only a few local mountain tops where the unlock would be useful from the base for mountain climbing, so it was really more of an academic endeavor than a real need, so I gave up trying to get the slider to change.
Yet, DJI says the max height on all Air 3S, Mavic 3 series and Mavic 4 Pro in the U.S. is 1000m everywhere with GEO removed. I suspect a bug possible in the Mavic 4 Pro FlySafe database, or the 1000m Unlock I obtained simply overrides whatever the slider setting is.
In use the actual difference between the 28mm eq lens and the 24 mm eq lens is trivial and if you really needed the additional coverage, it's nothing to fly backwards a little.
But I have a feeling that someone will say that all his photography is in constrained situations where it is impossible to fly backwards.
The other things to be aware of is that the image quality from the main camera and both tele cameras is much improved over those of the Mavic 3 pro and the drone itself is a much refined package that flies faster, further and for longer.
After two weeks to try out the new machine, my Mavic 3 was quickly sold.
The Mavic 4 pro was a much more consequential upgrade than the incremental or even marginal upgrade that I expected it to be..
The difference, especially in vertical field of view between 24mm in front of 4:3 sensor and 28mm in front of 3:2 sensor is not trivial. I get it that to you it might not be critical or even important but to say that it is trivial is plain incorrect. As is to say that the IQ from "both tele cameras is much improved". To my knowledge the 70mm is exactly the same as in M3P including sensor and lens. The 162mm has marginally bigger sensor and brighter lens and the improved IQ is reflective of that. FWIW I am able to get very decent IQ from the 7x lens on M3P too.
I am not disputing that M4P is an amazing drone. All I've been saying all along was that M3P can do equally good job in hands of skillful photographer and for me having the 24mm in front of 4:3 sensor is something I would not trade for 28mm and 3:2 sensor in M4P. But others have and will. I totally get it and I am perfectly ok with that.
Rather than imagining the difference, I've used both extensively and as far as I can tell, the actual difference for the user is trivial.

It's also an all new lens with a different focal length.
And the results it gives are much, much better than the previous long tele lens.
Unlike you, I've actually been using the newer drone and know just how good the long tele lens is rather than just guessing and sniping from the sidelines to justify my decision to stick with the older drone.
The new long tele camera is far better than the old one was.
I've only had >40 years to develop my skills. But the Mavic 4 pro is a big enough improvement that I'm continually surprised by the significant improvement in the images I'm getting each week.
You'll continue in denial and never know what you are missing out on.
But that's fine. It makes no difference to me what you use for your work.

I honestly do not understand why you keep attacking me and accusing me of posting misinformation. What exactly I posted which can be labeled as misinformation? All my posts are factual. You do not need to own a drone or a camera to be able to form an opinion about IQ it produces. All you need is samples taken by others, process them applying your own expertise and analyse the results. It is pretty basic staff. I am not in business of swaying people one way or another. If you can't take facts as facts then that is your problem not mine. The actual difference in vertical field of view between the main cameras of M4P and M3P is 43° to 55°. Not trivial to me but trivial is very subjective expression. Better to stick with facts expressed in numbers. Approximatelly 12° difference.

I agree with most everything you say but I know the 24mm for video has it's advantages at times as I'm sure you know if I had time to explain to you why I feel this way.
You should, but you keep coming back letting us know all the imaginary and very trivial faults of the drone you've never flown.
You say that like you think it's a bad thing.
