Mavic 4 Pro Aftermarket Battery Charger

It kind of surprises me that DJI is still not supplying battery chargers that allow you to top off to a storage level of around 60%.

I have long used aftermarket chargers for just this purpose to great effect and I find I am now on the lookout for one for the Mavic 4 Pro. To me, this is an important part of keeping batteries healthy for the long run. After a flight, I let them cool and then top it off to 60% until the next time I need to use it.

So far I only see one type of this charger on Amazon and it holds two batteries caddy style like the one that comes from DJI that holds three.

I know I am not the only one who uses these so I started this thread as a means to keep tabs on what comes out to fill this need.

I only recently got into drones, and I already have a Neo, Mini4k, Avata 2, and Mavic 4 Pro. And I had this same question. It's astounding to me that this isn't just a standard capability in the charging hubs from DJI. Given how unjustifiably expensive the batteries and docks are, you'd think they'd at least build this capability right in. So I will be watching this thread.

the question if I got I right is to bring the level directly to 60 percent instead of waiting for the auto discharge feature that happens after days right?

Pretty much...

Let's say you do four flights, each bringing your battery levels down to between 19-28% based on the flights. You know you won't be flying for at least a week so you want to get them to the optimal storage charge of 60% or thereabouts.

With the standard DJI charger you can fully charge them and let them self discharge down on their own or you can try to get them close to that 60% level by monitoring the flashing led's while charging.

The other way is to buy a third party charger that allows you to switch the charge level from 100% to 60%. I have found this way works best.

I would think that fully charging them first, and then either letting them self-discharge to 60% over 7 days, or manually depleting them to 60% immediately after reaching 100% would be better than only charging to 60% in the first place. The cell rebalancing only occurs towards the end of the 100% charging, and will be postponed until the next full charging otherwise.

I used to fly fpv until a few year ago, it didn’t make sense to fully charge buttery and than discharge it at 60%. Unless they have some reason to not to let us do this your right. About the cells rebalancing with the right charger it can balance the charge even without reaching 100. It’s all about the voltage you ask.

The majority of aftermarket battery chargers for DJI do not balance cells when they do a "storage charge" Most brands you buy off Amazon are unlikley to, such as Hanatora and Px. On the flip side anything sold by LKTOP and manufactured by Honor Electric out of Shenzhen is top quality. They make batteries and chargers for most DJI products- as the OEM for DJI 65 & 100 watt charge power supply bricks, and many DJI Batteries, so they are generally top quality and manage balance and cycling well.
