Mavic 4 Pro Leaked Specs, Price and Date

I've no idea if this site is given info directly from DJI to create hype but DroneXL's latest article now hints that the Mavic 4 Pro will be all about flight time, stability and handling rather than upgrades to the camera system over the Mavic 3 Pro.

"The improvements in aerodynamics and claims of significantly enhanced flight performance suggest DJI is focusing on extending flight times and improving overall stability rather than making dramatic changes to the camera system, which already offers professional-level capabilities in the current model."

How does everyone feel about $4000 for a new flagship drone that will fly for longer and have a 360 gimbal but with the camera system and sensors from the previous model?
Oh I think there will be some big changes to the camera system.do not believe everything you read.

I would be ok with this from a selfish standpoint considering I would prefer to stick with my Mavic 3 Pro and honestly, I don't feel it's the right time or the right climate to launch a new flagship drone into the US market (customs, china, etc). I've bought semi-expensive drones before but today don't feel right with the stock market cratering and the world economies tanking. Something doesn't feel right to me personally to spend $5000 for a ton of extra batteries and the super-smart hi-tech remote controller and a fly more combo with 2-years of care refresh when I already have a solid excellent drone. Maybe next year.....when we are all rich when the effects of these tariffs start kicking in. lol

While this design doesn't visually match the design of the leaked Mavic 4 Pro photos, it makes sense that they'd likely fold. The screen has indentations in the back, and that could be making room for the sticks if they protrude a bit above the top of the remote controller when folded.

I think most will agree financially. And IMO, If they don’t upgrade the camera, there is not much reason for Mavic 3 owners to purchase it that I see.

Major bummer for us still photographers if the camera/lens is not upgraded. The performance of the 3 was already outstanding. The biggest weakness for my work, was the camera.

One rumour says bigger sensor than the Mavic 3 but the next says focus is on stability and fight time this time around.

So who knows but hopefully not long now and it comes with big camera/sensor upgrades too.

A bigger sensor would be APS-C. There's nothing in between Four-Thirds and APS-C in the image sensor world.

DJI already have the bigger Super35 sensor from the Zenmuse X7 so its not a question of no bigger sensor available, just if they choose to allow the image quality of the Mavic to get so close to the Inspire.

Bigger sensors require bigger (and heavier) lenses and bigger, stronger gimbals.
Looking at the camera module on the Mavic 4, or the size of the X7 lenses, you can see that there won't be a bigger sensor.

There is always a trade off. Bigger sensors mean bigger gimbal and bigger gimbal means bigger drone. With that comes bigger battery to maintain a decent flight time etc etc. The M3P is, at least IMHO already a great example of optimal balance between performance and size. The M4P I expect to be incrementally better in terms of video capture, not so much for photos. There will be no doubt some new safety nifty features and other marginal improvements here and there but I do not expect anything earth-shattering, so to speak..

I'm not sure if "bigger" means larger sensor area (and I also don't know of a sensor that is between MFT and APS-C) or more megapixels. It could have been something lost in the literal translation and leakers are talking about resolution and not sensor area. Anyhow, we will know very soon.

Pixel count does not neccessarily translate into image quality. Area of the sensor and size of the pixels does.

Different peoples personal opinions on all this,is all it is,beleive nothing until official specs have been released which they have yet to be.

I'll bet the Mavic 4 is basically baked and done and it's the launch strategy in question from the standpoint of where to position the supplies, do we launch in the EU/CN first, how long do we wait or have we worked out US tariffs or not, what about the DJI US ban. Would love to sit in on a DJI meeting at CCP HQ....DJI cannot afford to blow the Mavic 4 launch like it did with Mavic 3.
