Hey, so I thought I'd test the auto follow and auto camera on the mavik 4 Pro and long story short it was great until it flew directly into a tree of course landing on what I would call its head(gimbal) which came of slightly.

The gimbal appears to be working fine but it has jumped out of the magnetic bracket that allows for one axis of pan or tilt but both ribbon cables are still attached and no actual damage seems to have occurred.

How do I get it back in the bracket, I notice a few plastic tabs that stop me from just putting it back but how much of the drone will I have to disassemble to get there and will it void DJI care or warranty if I attempt that?

I can picture myself with the whole drone in pieces then putting it back together with a couple of bits remaining i don't know where went....

That will buff right out! ;)
DO NOT TOUCH A SCREW! send it to DJI and have it fixed. If for some crazy reason you decide to turn a screw DJI will know and your warranty will be voided. There are no parts you can get for it if you break something.

Thankyou, I figurered as much and thats why I wrote a post whilst only eyeing the screwdrivers....Even harder seeing i work in electronics but Thanks for the response I was going to do that.

There is a bay also for an enhanced transmission module but none for sale yet, I have no idea what that means or anything im pretty new to DJI.

This incident brings up a good point. Has anyone seen any in-flight gimbal protectors, i.e. lens hood, anywhere out on the innerwebs? Only thing I've found was on Ali Express and I've never ordered from there before. Some of there stuff seems a bit shady....kinda like I'm doing a back-alley, less than legal transaction.

Ali Express is a legitimate company. I’m not certain they would have a gimbal protector that will keep a rather large camera on 2k plus drone from sustaining damage after a tree pruning adventure.
Note: I’ve been rong several times.

Nice to see that DJI's newest flavour of obstacle avoidance technology is living up to its reputation 😬

Whenever I see a new DJI drone released, I have a three-way bet with myself as to when the first O/A related prang gets reported... sooner: later: or not at all.... 'not at all' being the long-odds donkey.
