I have been flying the Mavic 4 Pro for about a week now. My old setup was the Mavic 3 Pro and a RC-N1 controller.... it provided plenty of range for my typical flights in the small town I live in. The Mavic 4 Pro / RC 2 controller combo is reducing my achievable distance by at least 30%. I am getting interference and weak signal indications at distances as little as 1000ft in FCC mode, while well within the ability to see the M4P (VLOS). Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

I use my RC2 with my A3S and RC Pro 2 with the Mavic 4 Pro; no issues with either.

I had. very poor range with the RC 2 and Mavic 4 on the first day I got it. Same weak signal, signal interference etc but after doing a FW refresh on Assistant 2 on the drone and RC, I now get over 6km with just 1 bar dropped.
Thanks Suren, I was considering doing as it is fully updated otherwise.... wasn't sure if doing a refresh would help anything. Worth a try.

Check you transmission settings and see if the signal is set to auto or locked on on freq. Just guessing here, but it might be your problem.

Auto. Moving to manual frequencies seems to revert on reboot anyway.

I did the Firmware refresh and seem to be getting virtually identical results now with the Mavic 4 Pro and my Mavic 3 Pro so I will consider it a success.

I thought I was the only one experiencing this issue. I noticed that my drone and remote get disconnected quite often when I'm flying which is seriously so annoying.

There seems to be some question about whether FCC transmission may be disabled on some or all Mavic 4 Pro's since DJI decided not to sell it in the U.S..
Some Korean eBay sellers are explicitly stating that the Korean drones purchased by Americans will still only be on CE. Yet others that have bought from Japan are now able to get FCC via FW updates.

How do you tell if you are on FCC or CE?

My Adorama Mavic 4 Pro cannot select Auto nor 5.8 GHz!
2.4Ghz only!

Are you sure you can’t have it set to Dual Band? Post a photo of your transmission page.

Boy, that is a very subtle change on the transmission screen.
Certainly not obvious, unless you know exactly what to look for.
Even with your photo, it took me a while to understand.
So if the upper horizontal bar is at 91, it's CE, and if at 87, it's FCC?
What are the lower bar levels? 105 for CE and 101 for FCC?

Apparently, one of the subsequent updates must have fixed the original inability to select Auto and Manual 5.8GHz. Now all options appear. In any case, that clearly wasn't a means of determining CE or FCC.

It also certainly isn't clearly spelled out on the transmission screen whether one is in CE or FCC mode, without knowing exactly what to look for on the graph.

Now I do! Thanks to both of you!

So, this begs the question.

Has anyone with a Korean sourced Mavic 4 Pro had any issues getting FCC transmission, after all updates were installed?

Is there any truth to the disclaimer, by at least one Korean eBay seller, that all Korean versions of the Mavic 4 Pro are permanently limited to CE, even if in the U.S.?

Or was this only an issue initially, later fixed by an update?

Yes not exactly easy to understand unless you know what to look for. 😆

From what I understand is to just look at the 1km and 4km text on the right side of the graph and see if it’s right next or above the line.
