Mavic air records at 29.97fps instead of 30fps

Hello.

I have bought my first drone (Mavic Air) and i am enjoying it very much amd hope to have a lot of fun with it.

I have setted the video recording to 4k and 30fps however the properties of the video files say that the actual framerate is 29.97.

Can anyone confirm if this is correct? Shouldn't it say 29.97fps when choosing the framerate instead of 30?

Yes, this is correct. 30fps is simply a shorthand convenience in terminology... NTSC standard framerate is 29.97fps, and has been since the beginning of color television.

Original BW television was truly 30fps, but when chroma information was added, the framerate was reduced slightly to accommodate the additional information (analog encoded). We've long since passed this bandwidth limitation, which is why 60 and 120fps are true 60/120.
