Are there any conditions under which the Mavic Remote Control charges an iPhone?

There are two ways to connect the Controller to the iPhone: 1) slipping the phone into the Controller "claws" and attaching the short cable to the side of the Controller and 2) attaching a USB cable to the "back" of the controller and connecting it to the iPhone.

Does either of these connections charge the iPhone under any settings arrangement?

Unfortunately, none of these options would keep the iPhone charged. Best is to either have your phone fully charged before the flight or if you can afford it , to have a dedicated tablet to fly your drone.

Usually the phone should be able to "outlive" the operation of your controller. Usually a fully charged controller should be able to fly more than 4-5 batteries. And your iPhone should last longer than that, if fully charged.
