Mavic firmware - controller firmware

This may be a dumb question; but, do the mavic and the controller need to be running the same version of the firmware? What about the go4 app?

Most people say that both should run the same FW in order to avoid unpredictable behavior. Others have reported using mismatched FW without issue.

The version of the DJI Go app only relates to the features desired and having the minimal level of FW installed (like the new pano feature or Quickshots). Otherwise, the DJI Go app version doesn't matter.
