Mavic or phantom pilots in San Jose, Costa Rica

Have seen few people around with phantoms and mavics around the area, but haven't been able to come in contact with any.
Would be nice to know them and to fly around.
Remember, the Mavic commercial filmed on a volcano was here in Costa Rica!!, before the Mavic came available !

Hi Norval. I assume that you are from Costa Rica. I am planning a vacation in early April. Recently, I read the following about flying in Costa Rica. See Costa Rica Drone Laws – UAV Systems International. I also have read that these rules are proposed and not final yet.

Can you please clarify what the current rules are? If I arrive at the airport in Costa Rica will I be able to get in with my drone?

At the time laws still quite relax, and there is no restriction on drones or "flying cameras".
So, rest assure you will go by customs quite easily.
In the other hand, don't even think on visiting our north neighbor of Nicaragua, at least with a drone! They are taken away at the airport if they catch you! "President" Mr. Daniel Ortega owns the country (Venezuelan style!) so, he has control over anything that flies!
