Mavic Pro Battery Mod

just FYI they are just test ideas, due to bad weather i cant even test, and work of course

I really like the external battery mounts as it is a lot easier and would make the process of setting up the mod slightly faster and a lot easier. Cruzroy has provided these two mounts

I like these both, the problem I see with the first one is that not all batteries will fit and you will still have to strap them down or Velcro them to the mount.

The second one seems better as the weight will be evenly divided, my only worry is that at the angle that the mount arms are at the wires from the batteries could possibly get caught up in the propellers.

I don't mean to criticize his mounts as they are very good ideas and more then I could come up with I am just suggesting some ideas.

Here is a mount from fpv customs which would be ideal if you are using a single battery.

I am thinking that a hybrid of all three of these mounts would be best. It should be able to hold two batteries pressed against the side of the craft with Velcro straps, as this is good for weight distribution and balance. Also, it could possibly have the option to put one battery on top of the Mavic using a strap. I am thinking it should be able to pop on the Mavic like cruzroy's do with an additional strap holding it in place from the bottom but ensuring it doesn't cover any sensors. I have been thinking about this for a while and I feel that would be the best possible mount.

I would love to hear some more ideas!

I don't see how these mounts can work. They rely on the battery buttons to hold them in place. The battery button edges are chamfered, rounded off, which would mean the clip could pop of easily. Also the weight of the battery will result in torque against the button clip if the mount has a gap between the Mavic battery. I guess there will be no gap, as that can't work.

To make this secure, there would need to be a sticky rubber where the mount makes contact to the craft. The plastic would need to be fairly rigid to have good clamping force on sides of mavic battery, but also be flexible enough to not snap when flexing it to put on and take off.

I think it's a good starting point to try. Since the battery buttons can be pushed in not much flex is needed. I was also thinking to increase friction with some rubber.

I put a 3 degree bend on design, i lifted and shaked my gopro one, and did not come lose.......but as i said, looking for testers.....i have not had time or good weather

Im in need of a 3d print file for mavic battery clip, thinking this might be a good location for 2 - 1500mah 3s lipos.
I have tested this location and the top of main battery location.
I like the stability of on the sides mount. Then you can mount the 3m dual lock velcro on the battery's and the backpack clip instead of on the nice sticker wrap like I did so then when you pull the batteries off to charge you don't rip the wrap off! (duh).
Cruzroy has a nice stl for the dual battery clip that I've had 3d printed (2 more days till it gets here, shapeways.com) hope he sees this and helps out again. (wink, wink)
