I have a iPhone XR and KNOW it has a good gps..
In follow mode from only 100 feet up the mavic
Loses signal with remote..
WTH, I can fly it 15,000 feet away or over
1,500 feet high and have very good signal but
Why does it drop out so quickly in follow mode at 100 feet, what I consider extremely close?

Also when I try to change home point to my current location it says gps signal to weak.

I know my phone has a good enuf gps..

The quad gets it signal from the remote, im guessing that at 100ft up and directly above you the signal is too weak due to the antenna orientation, [/QUOTE]

I know my phone has a good enough gps..
How are you sure ? have you installed an app to see what satellites are available in the location you are at.

I will try a different orientation with antenna then.
I didn’t even consider that the metal body must
Weaken signal..

as far as home point changing I’ve never had any luck with that..
I have taken off and recorded that home point, walked a 1/4 mile from original home point and tried to switch and always get the same message about gps to weak on phone or remote whichever it locks to..
It cannot be phones cause I’ve tried it on very powerful devices from iPhone 7-8plus- and now the xr..
Also owned an iPad Air 2 and a 10.5 iPad Pro.

none of these ever worked and out of all those
At least one should have worked.
I believe it’s on dji’s end or app..

If straight up (or straight down a cliff or whatever), the antenna in the M1P legs are not in a good position to get signal from the controller.
It's pretty much a dead spot or close to it.

You know flats of the controller antenna face the drone I guess ?

But like this is poor signal
