Mavic Pro RC Wifi to Android/Ipad Mini 4?

I can't figure out for the life of me whether it is required to use the supplied OTG cable with both either the Android/iPad Mini 4 device?

I just started using NO OTG for my Spark and it has been working out well and basically, I was going to try and connect the same way but I'm having a brain fart moment with my MPP.

No, you should not use an OTG cable with the Mavic. Connect your mobile device to the bottom (or side port) using a Lightning cable for your iPad Mini or USB cable supported by your Android device.

You cannot connect to the RC via Wifi for the Mavic Pro/Air, only the Spark works that way.

Ok thanks, I wasn't sure whether there was that option to go Wifi as well with the Mavic. Thanks for confirming! There is a way to connect to the iPad/Android device directly to the Mavic though right? I think that would have to be done with the little switch in the Mavic. Just want to confirm my understanding.
