I might be one of the few still flying a Mavic Pro v1. Love this bird. Fly it more than my P4P. Yesterday while flying I got a 'remote disconnet'warning. First time for this. Had absolutely no control of the drone. It was not that far away with direct view. I finally pressed the Return Home Button. Waited....then saw it overhead and decending.
After viewing the video, noticed it just keep flying in the direction it was going when I lost connection.
Replaced the battery and it flew okay.
It was pretty scary. Thought I was going to loose it since I was almost100 feet over water.
Has anyone had this problem?

Actually, my uncle uses an old Mavic Pro for drone fishing. He gets the same problem- remote disconnected warning. he fixes it by changing from running the drone on dual- band frequency to 5.8 ghz. That seems to solve it.
Hope that helps!

If you really had lost connection, pressing the RTH button won't have any effect.

Unless you've changed the Loss of Signal action from the default setting (RTH), your drone will initiate RTH 3 seconds after losing signal.

It was likely an intermittent disconnect between the remote and your phone/tablet. It’s not that uncommon with the wear & tear on the remote’s connector. You can use the USB 2 connector on the base of the remote for a more robust connection.

I’ve had the same issue with a Mavic 2 Pro, which has not happened again since using the base USB connector.
