I might be one of the few still flying a Mavic Pro v1. Love this bird. Fly it more than my P4P. Yesterday while flying I got a 'remote disconnet'warning. First time for this. Had absolutely no control of the drone. It was not that far away with direct view. I finally pressed the Return Home Button. Waited....then saw it overhead and decending.
After viewing the video, noticed it just keep flying in the direction it was going when I lost connection.
Replaced the battery and it flew okay.
It was pretty scary. Thought I was going to loose it since I was almost100 feet over water.
Has anyone had this problem?

Actually, my uncle uses an old Mavic Pro for drone fishing. He gets the same problem- remote disconnected warning. he fixes it by changing from running the drone on dual- band frequency to 5.8 ghz. That seems to solve it.
Hope that helps!

If you really had lost connection, pressing the RTH button won't have any effect.

Unless you've changed the Loss of Signal action from the default setting (RTH), your drone will initiate RTH 3 seconds after losing signal.

It was likely an intermittent disconnect between the remote and your phone/tablet. It’s not that uncommon with the wear & tear on the remote’s connector. You can use the USB 2 connector on the base of the remote for a more robust connection.

I’ve had the same issue with a Mavic 2 Pro, which has not happened again since using the base USB connector.

Yes. I had something similar with my M Pro. Sporadically, I will have a very weak signal even while standing next to the drone at takeoff. I now look at the screen that shows transmission strength at startup. The fails usually happened at startup. I have had this happen whilst flying at less than 100 yards away. Got it back and put it on the ground as quickly as I could.
Next startup, no problem. No rhyme or reason but I have pretty much put it away. No DJI support (anywhere) anymore for this great bird.
BTW, this problem appeared out of nowhere, as I have never even chipped a prop on this drone.

Not sure how long an 'intermittent' time is. I waited probably 45 sec looking at the dimed screen with the warning on it. Tried touching it in several places. Pretty frustrating not knowing what the drone is doing while being disconnected. I finally pressed the Return Home Button. Heard a click. Screen did not change. After maybe a minute I heard it overhead. My return altitude is 300'.

Posted this on another reply, but wanted to address your response.

"Remote Disconnected" means there's NO connection between the Remote and the Flying Device (phone/app).
A dimmer and static black & white video feed display confirms this.
You can still controll your drone.
When you loose connection between the drone and the remote, you get the error message "Aircraft disconnected".

A common cause for "Remote disconnected" is accumulated lint/dust inside the USB-C connector of your phone.
The data pins on this connector are slightly shorter then the power pins therefore charging your phone still works.

Clean the USB-connector on your phone with something small enough and NON-conductive, like a toothpick.
(There are plenty youtube videos on how to clean the USB port).

Understand no connection. Will check my input and see if it needs cleaning. Thanks!
