Just a simple answer needed please? Can the battery be left in the drone and be charged using the USB port?

Just to add.. The Mavic battery is 15.4 Volts. The supplied charger provides 17.6 Volts. USB only provides 5 volts, so there's no way you can use it charge a 15.4 Volt battery

How about you enlighten me and explain how you can charge a Mavic 2 battery through the craft's USB port.

You can't but that's purely because DJI decided not to make that a possibility, technically it would be no problem. Any voltage can be converted to any other easily, at 5V/2A input (10W) it would be long, but possible. And since the M2 has USB-C it could support PD like many laptops do, which allows for up to 100W transfer, aka much more than the charger provides.

Thanks to all for replying. I know that any voltage can be converted up or down .. 12v cig charger is an example of stepping up. that's why I waned a simple answer.
