Can we add:

CW - Clock Wise

CCW - Counter Clock Wise

Also, can BVLOS also mean Beyond Visual Line of Sight and not just Blocked Visual Line of Sight? Or do we have to use BLOS to be correct and accurate about a situation where sight is not blocked but you can no longer see the AC?

"AMSL" can also be abbreviated to just "MSL".

A good point and known acronym term.

That would be good for a boating forum, but mostly we are concerned with the 'above' aspect of sea level.
. . . and then, if concerned or needed at all really, mostly we are only really concerned with AGL.

ASL is more handy, if flying over the ocean, and merely means distance form sea / water surface to the aircraft.

MSL could be added I suppose, no harm, just can't see it relating to any sort of drone situation as we fly at many other times than MSL.

Edit - I see MSL is there on the list, might have been added in the past 15 minutes :)

Good list.
Obviously unofficial some of it, or at least purely drone orientated.

In this case, I've always liked someones post here once (and it seemed to catch on) where they mentioned the term / acronym ATOP, for Above Take Off Point.

This is obviously very specific to many drone posts, handy to discern differences in flight analysis etc, and could be worthy of addition.
It maybe be on the list on some other form / wording, but having it in the 'A' section with AGL, AMSL etc is going to be easier to relate to altitude.

The trick is though, how to get anyone wondering 'what acronym = what' is getting them to know there is an acronym wiki on the forum.

Funny (and love) to see OMM on the list :)

Another that could be added is AHP, as ATOP can differ if home point was changed after take off.

ATOP is probably going to be more used though, and will usually be the same as the HP for most flights people do here.

How about clockwise and counter clockwise?

Doesn’t CCW stand for concealed carry weapon?

Officially NOTAM now stands for “notice to air missions” May be worth the edit

Interesting change to US FAA terms.
Amazing it wasn't changed to NOTAP in this day and age.
No kidding, LOL. They decided airMEN was too sexist or something silly like that. Notice to airmen, women,Transgender, neuter NOTAMWTN??? These days…
Happy flying fellow AMWTNs!

Yes.

Well, the FAA does have their own actual list of official acronyms HERE:

Could we just copy-paste the full list w/definitions right here? Straight from them?
We really need to keep it consistent and standardized with the governing body for all of this already.

Add the full list, or moderators could decide how much. It is pretty comprehensive.

@clackey can we just dump the full list here?

I am fine if someone would like to add these but please make sure it is done cleanly and sorted correctly with the current list. Just a copy and paste would be a mess, IMO.

AR = Augmented reality

Makes a lot more sense in the drone context than a reference to a rifle manufacturer.
