Was watching a YouTube video where the dude said if your Media Disc goes bad your drone will act erratic,
not fly correctly, or even crash.
Yikes!!!
Will your drone even fly without a MD installed?

I never put an SD card in mine...flies like a champ!

This is true. I have flown with the intent of having a SD card, but didn’t have one unfortunately.

Nothing happens to the aircraft with bad or missing SD

If you think about it, why have dual imu, compass and in same cases batteries only to have your bird brought down by a bad SD card.

You mean drag that little wooden building into the living room?

So if you don't us a SD card you just have the drone download the photos or videos to your phone/iPad?

And if you are downloading to a phone can you save in RAW format which runs at least 18 mb. Does the camera allow that size?

You should use a fast SD card and not rely on downloads (caching) to your phone/tablet. When conditions are marginal your video/photo feed is the first to go and it would suck to miss that great shot because you did not have a card installed.

Only Air and M2 have built-in storage so if you don't have those and you want high quality recordings, you'll want an SD card. Even with the built-in storage, it's rather small, especially if you are recording higher than 1080p.
