Currently it's illegal for anyone to mount a weapon of any type on a drone but we all know the criminals don't obey the laws and the government is always looking for ways around or the law....or, simply change the law whenever they are ready.

Who will be the first to use weapons mounted on the drone in this country? Already happening around the world but not so much in America, at least not widespread. There are many who believe this is inevitable and I hope not because people already fear the only "weapon" already found on most drones: the camera.

However, check this out. In the first video, we see a situation where a drone is deployed by police against an armed shooter. How easy would it be to mount a weapon on a drone and take out that shooter? It would be done with minimum harm to everyone around him. And if he were barricaded, we already know you can attach small explosives to the drone and get the job done easily. It will save lives and it's coming soon. One day, drones will be allowed to be armed with defensive weapons and it will start out as an exception for law enforcement and with very limited use. Same way they started with robots; remember that robot that blew up the Dallas shooter? What better way to gain public approval than another failed solution on how to stop the most hated crime in America: the active school shooter. Use a drone (see second video).

In the meantime, start small, find a way to go around the rules, cut corners, and show what the drone is capable of and how it's not such a bad idea. Oh and make sure to keep mentioning this doesn't ever expand, we'll never use it against the good guy, nothing to worry about. Then you slowly walk it up and one day, we will have automatic drones using facial recognition and AI technology to located and hunt down high-value targets in American cities. It's a deterrence to anyone thinking of committing a heinous crime or else the drone will be sent for you. "We promise to never use it against protesters."

Look, just making you aware, to keep your eyes open, and watch what is going on in your community and stay engaged as technology continues to evolve and government takes things to the next level.

Probably someone named Smith, if only because there are more Smiths in the country than anyone else. Jim Smith, maybe. Or Tom Smith, or Bob Smith. Or maybe Jones. Could be someone named Jones because there are a lot of Joneses in the country too, and people are always trying to keep up with them. If a bunch of Smiths thought the Joneses were going to be the first to weaponize a drone, then the Smiths would certainly want to keep up with the Joneses.

I think you've hit the nail on the head - as far as some ( the authorities) are concerned, the drones we use already have the most dangerous weapon already fitted: the camera.
