-No obstacle avoidance "yet", (correct me if wrong) maybe firmware update soon?
-Pretty unusable for small screen phone, it rotates vertical view on your horizontal screen, as can see in the reviews.

I have often turned my SC to better "read" a vertical composed image.
I will do so with a true vertical mode and the RC ... certainly, that's quite hard if not impossible with the mobile phone and the alternative controller. Probably you can disable switching between horizontal and vertical mode on Android/iOS to avoid this?

Yes, disabling screen rotation is possible on Android devices.
