Mini 5 Pro at Adorama

Oddly, Adorama is only selling the EU C0 battery version with standard batteries which still transmit RID and requires pilot registration! What happened to the Plus battery version available on Amazon Marketplace that was legitimately selling for $1159 ($180 cheaper!) with three Plus batteries of 52 minutes each? This Adorama combo is $1330 for three standard batteries of only 34 minutes each!

No Plus battery version is available for purchase at all from Adorama!

DJI is now apparently trying to unload these EU C0 units on unsuspecting U.S. buyers at an inflated price, even higher than the Plus battery versions, when the ONLY benefit to buying the standard batteries was they were cheaper! Not any more!

Don't fall for it. Get the Plus battery version for 50% more flight time!

100%. At this point, because of the weight situation, the Plus battery is the desired battery and if you buy the package with the standard battery, you are basically buying a battery which has been diminished by 35%. That's not going to work for the Mini 5 Pro the same reason why it won't work for the Mavic 4 Pro; no one is going to pay only a little less for a bunch of weaker batteries. I noticed on the Amazon page, the Plus package never goes back to near MSRP prices so it seems like they are trying to push the other packages instead. Another major launch blunder by DJI. Let's see how B&H handles this.

I am not sure considering the issues that DJI is currently having in the US, whether its their fault that vendors are either offering packages that don't have what you think everyone should be getting, ie in this thread the Plus package with the better batteries.

Other sites like Amazon seems to be selling them for hundreds more over whatever the MSRP is for any version of the Mini 5 Pro. The plus version is $1599 on Amazon at the moment which is $270 more than the Adorama offering and thats today's Amazon price, could be higher tomorrow. Exactly what are US prices for the Mini 5 Pro since DJI cannot really sell them here?

If the M5P were offered in the US, I believe the MSRP for the 4 packages would be about $769, $929, $1039, and $1109.

Adorama is not selling the Plus version right now. They only sell the first 3 of the 4 DJI packages.

The situation would be much different if the advertised weight of the M5P was truly less than 250g and using the standard battery did not trigger RID. Since this isn't the case (100% thanks to DJI), we have a problem since there exists a Plus battery for +$25 per battery. In order to effectively sell the package with the standard battery, you either have to reduce its price low enough for the buyer to realize a substantial savings for the trade-off or you have to increase the price of the Plus package to an unholy amount which in turn will shine the spotlight on the standard battery package as a great deal. Sellers are choosing the latter more often otherwise they won't sell the Plus package and the buyer is in the dark about a "better" option. Adorama will probably mysteriously start selling the Plus package later once they sell enough of the standard; all of sudden the Plus package shipments will have arrived, they were late but they are here now. Get it for $1400, sorry we sold you the standard package for $1330 last month. :p

BTW, what is this? Adorama didn't get the message? LOL

@mavic3usa ,Because of the current situation with DJI, it's a mess, do you get one now, because you may not be able to get one later?

Yeah, DJI fudged the weight perhaps by a couple grams, has anyone, anywhere, had someone weigh the drone to see if meets the spec? Yeah, its annoying issue, the only one's that seem to have noticed are reviewers. If they hadn't said boo, would anyone care?

Yeah the Plus Package is probably the better way to go, but I've seen them as high as $1900 on Amazon, the price goes up and down like a yoyo, and if your MSRP prices are right, no one is selling them for MSRP because of the situation DJI is in here in the US... As for RID, this too seems to be an overblown issue, however maybe I am missing something?

I weighed mine on my coffee scales and depending on which battery (all 3 are normal intelligent rather than plus) 252.2 to 252.7g.

The M5P forum here has several really good topics on M5P weight, where to buy including prices on both eBay and Amazon, the different batteries and their RID capabilities, and several other good topics. A good place to start, see the thread below and Yes, I would get the M5P now especially if you can get it at a really good price.
