Mini 5 Pro officially launched outside the US.

The weight and speed are similar to the Mini 4 Pro, so the behavior in the wind will be similar.

Are you in the UK? There aren't any differences on where you can fly based on weight in the US.

No but I fly a lot in Europe and was just looking at maps in Switzerland where the only restricted areas I was seeing for the places I was interested in all say 250 gram drones can fly but anything heavier needs permission, which could take 10 days to process in many places.

One of the reviews I saw said it has a bit better wind resistance (12 m/s vs 10 m/s for the mini 4). Seems like a decent improvement.

Have mine in hand, will test fly this afternoon

The much bigger bag is nice

It really is not a huge upgrade. It is apparently a bit on the chunky side. It is so close to 249gr that it comes with both the C1 and C0 stickers, since if you put a sticker on it, it is overweight. It can be overweight out of the box as its specs stated that the weight is 249.9 +- 4g, hmmm. If you use the standard equation of .7 x whatever DJI says, let's see 36 x .7=25.2 minutes, not much flight time. Then there is the won't see an SDK for at least 18 months. Kind of disappointed. I was disappointed in Apple's release as well. Seems tech is hitting plateaus. At least the iPhone 17 is thinner, more expensive, less battery life with more emojis and a couple of new ringtones. Sound similar? Well the iPhone is lighter at least.

Makes one wonder, since the weight can be over 249 out of the box, if it will broadcast remote ID out of the box in the USA.

Somebody please disassemble the camera, I want to know which sensor the Mini 5 Pro is equipped with
Hopefully, it’s the Sony LYT900 xD

It comes with CE Mark stickers?

Because DJI had been etching the CE mark on the body, not slapping a label there or including a label in the box.

Not mine. CE is still etched to body
What is interesting though is that there is a leaflet from EASA explaining rules. Normally we would have CASA leaflets here in Australia

My Mini 4 Pro came with C0 stickers fitted and a set of C1 stickers to install if required. I’ll be checking what the M5P comes with.

The side button on the drone that many reviewers are saying they dint know what its for, is for entering Quick Transfer Mode for grabbing picsimage.jpg

It looks like the 5's maximum speed is 18 or 19 m/s, depending on which battery is used, compared to 16 m/s for the Mini Pro 4. So, it does look like the 5 should do a bit better.

Speed doesn’t help for wind resistance when the drone is stationary as it takes shots.

We're talking airspeed, the drone's speed through the air. It doesn't matter whether the air is moving or not. If the drone is stationary over the ground with a 20 mph wind blowing, the drone's airspeed is 20 mph.

Won't be buying until there's a standard package with the drone and RC2 controller available. Other than that, this looks like everything I need from a drone in London, but will continue with my trusty Mini 3 Pro while waiting for DJI to work out their sales strategy. And no doubt iron out all the usual teething problems.

Scrap that. Apparently it's not even under 250g, so useless to me.

Officially marked 249.9g +/- 4g. I'm seeing reports of people weighing theirs in at about 253g.

Just watched a review video where he actually weighed the drone on a scale. I came in at 249 with an sd card, if a nd filter was mounted it came in at 251

Sure a drone with a more powerful motor can fly through windy conditions better than a drone with less powerful motor.

But it doesn't do much for smooth image capture, which is one of the primary functions of a drone.

Years ago, I owned a 9.9 hp Johnson outboard motor. It was rated that way to make it possible to use it where there was a sub-10 hp limit in some lakes. The rumor was that it was actually 10 hp or slightly above. I seriously doubt that any authority ever even imagined running a dynamometer test before allowing it on a lake. It was rated less than 10 hp and that was that.

DJI has a bit of experience in marketing drones around the world and I suspect they just might have examined the issue of how the drone would be treated.

I'm still wondering if anyone has ever witnessed or even heard of any authority - law enforcement, FAA, CAA, or other civil aviation authority - actually weighing someone's drone?

Looks a solid craft with excellent improvements on it-certainly an upgrade from my Air2 which performs perfectly every flight. I am tempted but household priorities may hold sway!

I have witnessed the FAA take every single item out of an aircraft, weigh it, compare it to the W&B you are required to keep in the airplane. Ground the aircraft and fine the pilot $10,000. They were in a mood about a separate incident and totally hammered the guy. They can do that any time they feel like it. If you think they don't have scales, guess again. BTW, it is $10,000 per incident, which can be each flight overweight for example. Not having an un-damaged capacity sticker next to your fuel filler. They can and frequently do go and start looking for every single violation they can write. You see, you can barging down the fine. So they make it fairly stout to begin with. I do consulting from time to time on FAR violations. The Navy in its infinite wisdom sent me to Naval Postgraduate School in Aviation Accidents and Safety/Regulations. Makes a bit of coin every couple of years, enough for very expensive hobbies.
