I think the 100m range was if you were using you phone instead of the controller. It didn't specify range if using the optional controller. To me the biggest issue would be the gimbal.

The context I got was that the controller is limited to a little over 100m. Zero Tech are niching in areas where others aren't going. High quality, small drones.
