Dear Mavic Pilots Friends:

Sorry if you were not able to open video. I went back and changed the Vimeo setting to allow embedding it.

Here is the latest film.

Believe it or not, I had so much material still not published from our 5 weeks in Montana that I decided to use it for a third, and final film. This one is only 2 1/2 minutes. I think the tropical storm we have been having for the past two days had something to do with this. Not able to even leave the house because of two full rainy days, and bored with TV and reading, I turned back to a new project.

As before the film incorporates video and still assets from the following ;

1. Nikon D750 DSLR with 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6 lens for all timelapses
2. Really Right Stuff tripod
3. Mavic 2 Pro DJI Drone
4. DJI Osmo Action video camera
5. Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max with 4K video

Video editing;

1. Adobe Premiere Pro
2. Adobe Photoshop 2020
3. LRTimelapse 5 software for timelapses
4. Dynamic Perception Stage One motion slider with Sapphire pan-tilt head. I am selling this if anyone is interested

As usual, full screen and sound.

Very nice Dale. Just curious, what time interval did you use to shoot the Milky Way timelapse?

Great scenes Dale. Thanks for showing us places that we might not be able to see otherwise.

I do a lot of test shots before starting the sequence. In this case I believe it was 15 seconds at either ISO 1200 of 1600., f/2.8. Here is the lens I used. Screen Shot 2020-09-14 at 8.43.38 AM.png

The image was taken according to my app on a new moon and duration was about 2 hours. So, @ 15 seconds=4 frames per minute x 120 minutes=480 frames. Processed in LR Timelapse 5 (using Lightroom LrC). The key is to focus on a bright star at high magnification (using the LCD screen) before re-composing the shot, then turning off the auto focus.
