Flying down Merced Ave towards Beach Bl in Heritage Village in La Habra, CA. 1/5/2025
Nothing special, this is one of my first flights with my new DJI mini 4k.
I don't think this video is 4k though.
I'm still learning.

Whatever software you used to render the video was set to render it in 1080p 60fps. Looks a lot warmer than my house in VA!! 🤣

that is a beautiful place but OMG so cold,
What is your traffic like, bison and deer stampeding? lol
The occasional Elmer Fudd hunting wabbits
I hear choppers and sirens all night long.
Choppers = obnoxious bikers and/or police helicopters

Nowhere near as warm a SoCal in the winter, but no traffic. I hear little other than silence at night. Deer, yes. Bison, no. 😂 Hunters all around, including myself. I live just outside a small town that has about 800 people. The town that I grew up in.

ok I have kind of a dumb question
born and raised in California so what do I know about snow.
In that picture of your house, why is your house and the ground is all covered in snow but all the trees are bare?
How does that happen? The snow in the trees melts first? Then the snow on the ground?

If it is a wet snow it sticks to the trees. A dry snow does not stick to the trees. In this case it was a wet snow BUT the wind has been blowing 30-40 mph today and that shakes the snow off the trees plus it got above 32 today so there was melting going on too.

Thank you for that.
I've heard of wet snow and dry snow but I didn't know what it meant.
It just looked odd to me like how is this even possible? And it covers such a big area.
To me anything colder than about 50 is just too cold anyways.
So Cal city boy - what can I say lol
Thank you - STAY WARM! and happy hunting and Happy New Year!
And oh yeah, happy FLYING.

Yes, I imagine LA hasn't seen much snow. But I hear you have tar pits! 😀 And stay away from those fires! BTW, what software are you using to edit your video?

Yeah no problem on staying away from the fires. I'm not near rich enough to live in those areas. Thank God
I live in the flat lands with the commoners. As you can see in my video lol. But it is very windy here, I can see and smell the smoke but that's about it. The fires affect me about as much as the tar pits do. I know they are there lol

I just used Clipchamp. I didn't even bother to look at the settings. I just cut out a clip from a longer video.

I'll take a closer look next time. I don't remember now what software I used with my Phantom. I think maybe it was just the built in Microsoft movie maker? Something like that. I haven't flown it much in the last couple of years because my Phantom was developing problems and it was more nerve racking to fly than fun.

I just replaced my old DJI Phantom 2 Vision Plus with a DJI mini 4k for Christmas so I'm still learning. But man o man, 1/4 the size, 1/4 the cost, and 10 times better than the Phantom. Well, 2X anyways lol
