The typing was but the photos were the work of seconds, the cable I already had.
Of course if you prefer to make decisions based on rumour, gossip and www 'fact', please..... be my guest and long may they continue to work for you.
Where I can get it I prefer substantiated fact.

JAW, does what is shown in post #24 not suggest to you that taping over the +5v pin in the plug will disable the connection between the controller and the phone?
If not then why don't you try the 'taping over the +5V pin thing' yourself and see if you have functioning App when everthing is plugged together?
Then you could let everyone know the results of your experiment.
I could do it myself but I wouldn't want to incur Scubadiver's ..........'disapproval'
