Here's a mystery...my M2P was folded up & packed away in its padded case and I hear it turn on so I quickly shut it off. Any idea why it would turn on by itself? No one was near the case. Would that have caused any problems that I should be concerned about? Sorry if it's a stupid question but I'm new at this and wouldn't have expected it to have a mind of its own.

It wasn’t in a case with a Phantom now was it? Lol sorry I couldn’t help it.

That’s pretty strange. Was there anything touching the top of the battery like the lid of the case?

You don’t have to worry. Now I would try to avoid turn it on with the gimbal cover installed but I think everybody has done that at least a few times on accident and no issues. If you really want be overly careful you could do an auto-gimbal calibration in the DJI Go 4 app.

If it keeps happening let us know

I would check to see if the padding of the case was hard enough to depress the button when closed. It could’ve been the perfect storm when you closed it and caused the power button to be pressed twice in succession.

LOL. The lid was closed but not latched because I was waiting for another battery to charge. It had been several hours since I had flown. The foam is soft so that didn't make sense. I was just curious since the gimbal cover was on. Trying to avoid any unpleasant surprises once I'm in the air. Thanks for your input!

Mine just did this too! Mavic 2 Zoom, latest firmware, in a case, been put away for a few days. Just sitting there, in my office. I hear it. I KNOW that sound.
I open the case and it's ON!!!

This is very bad.

I will not store it with the battery in it any more, I guess.

Of course you shouldn't ...

This happened to me last summer. However, I am sure, that when closing the case, I must have pushed the battery button by incident. Ever since then, I remove the battery from the drone while in the case to avoid the same mistake happening again.

May well be due to a bad switch making electrical contact intermittently. I would try to knock it randomly and see if the problem can be reproduced.
