My goodness. I bought a magic pro for Christmas this year. No sooner did I get it and the new laws appeared. Grrrrrr. I live right in the Nanaimo airport airspace. Havenentbeen able to fly my drone for weeks. I just took the basic course. Not sure what to do now. Do i actually Have to send in a flight plan to the airport? It seems hard to find a place I can fly at all around here ?

Look into something like LAANC which allows for an automated process for submitting a request with approvals being acknowledged in about 90 seconds. Granted LAANC is specific to submitting to the FAA, but there may be a similar product for the CAA. Better than recommending you more.

Good luck.jump in your car and drive a few miles and get out of the nfz, nanaimo is stunning, go get some footage,ur back yard isnt the only place to fly, i live in the sunny okanagan and im not in a nfz but i drive to fly every time, i dont want pics of houses i want lakes and mountains,,,
