I'm in Lakewood and the Lakewood Park is drone friendly. Feel free to get in touch if anyone is heading this way, I'd be happy to meet up.

Do you have any shots from the Lakewood park of the Cleveland Skyline? I want to come out that way to get some flying over water.

Yes, I have several, however once past the end of the park to the east, you are in the airspace of Burke Lakefront Airport and for the hobby flyer, are not allowed to fly in that space.

Always looking to meet up and fly with local folks. Might try to head out this afternoon in fact.

Just found this post. I've been on the Cleveland Metroparks website to see if anything has changed on drone flying there. All the designated areas are still there, but I went to the park to fly on 5/24/25, I thought I would just call the park ranger number at Hinckley dam ranger office to make sure anything has changed. They said no flying allowed in the Metroparks. I have drones registered, and have the TRUST cert. Has anybody been flying here lately???

We have an organization called North Coast Drone Alliance,

The North Coast Drone Alliance (NORCODA) is nonprofit, community-based organization dedicated to supporting and connecting drone enthusiasts, operators, and learners across Cleveland and northern Ohio.

We have held at least one meet up per year and sometimes two at Hinckley. However, the ONLY place you are allowed to fly from, is the top of the Ledges Car Park, where we have our meet up.

You are not allowed to fly anywhere else in the metro parks in summer. In Winter, you have always been allowed to fly from the Polo Field as well, but not in summer. Lakewood Park is drone friendly, that is where I fly from.

Thanks so much. I've spent a bunch of time on Cleveland metro parks website downloading and printing drone rules & regulations, policy & procedures, and have them with me. I see all the designated places to fly. Hinckley is closest to me. I have been to the 2 sites in Cle. Metro parks. I really like Top O Ledges. I just wanted to verify before flying by calling the park ranger. They said no flying in the metro parks. I told them about the info on their website. She said she would pass the info on. So I didn't fly. It's obvious one hand doesn't know what the other is doing. I'm just trying to do the right thing. I'm going to make a couple more phone calls... I guess I should just put on my BIGBOY pants and go fly LOL. Thanks for the info on NORCODA. By the way, their website says top o ledges picnic area, you said car park. Is that the same place? Just checking. Take care

Yes, the car park is marked as Top o the Ledges, and there is a sort of structure there for picnics under a roof. There is only one area called Top o the ledges, that I'm aware of and of course there is a car park there. When you turn off the road to the right, at the top of the hill, it will curve slightly left and as you proceed, it then takes a sharper right hand turn as you come into the car park which goes off to your left.

There is a large open field on your left (as the road turns a sharper right hand) with a single tree in it as it goes up a slight incline. If you are at the right place, this will all make sense to you. You may find that not everyone understands and knows about the permission to fly from here. As I mentioned, we have had a number of annual meetups here with up to 15 or more people arriving, to fly.

Here is a link to something I did last Autumn on a day we had our meetup there.

Yup, that's where I was at. Also pulled up google maps to get a view of the area. Thanks for sharing that awesome video. Really enjoyed it. I'll be there next nice day!
