Need an opinion on my camera focus. It just plain stopped today.

Problem: Camera has stopped focusing altogether, meaning it does not respond to automatic focusing, nor manually by moving the scale in Go 4. I can detect no movement or change in the lens in an attempt to focus.

The problem came on sudden after a flight where I was doing a time lapse with photos every 2 seconds, manual focus, auto exposure, collected roughly 450 photos in D-log. I landed, changed batteries, then booted up again. No more focus. But the time lapse photos came out great!

Aircraft: Mavic Pro Platinum
Accidents and crashes: None
Flight hours: 129
Video recording hours: 25
Photos take : 2100

Things that work:
All flight characteristics
RC controls OK
All gimbal movement, follow, up, down, etc.
Camera auto and manual Exposure changes OK
Color style response OK
All other camera settings respond OK
Go 4 beeps when applying the focus box on an area of the screen, but it doesn’t focus.

Actions taken to resolve the problem:
Recalibrated the gimbal twice - completed 100%.
Calibrated IMU and compass
Switched to a different GO 4 app from my iPad to my iPhone
Reset all camera settings
Switched to a different memory card
“Tube Tunked” the camera with the butt end of a screw driver. It did start partially focusing for a few seconds, then quit.

Since the gimbal works ok and I am getting image transmission, I figured it’s the lens unit and not the gimbal cable.

Any opinions or advice before I do an Amazon order? Thank you, and give yourself a raise

Might just be a bad contact in the camera's cable connection. Unplugging and replugging it might do the trick.
Hey Thank You! I was thinking along those lines, only because after "tube tunking" (I used to restore antique tube radios from the 1930's) it attempted to focus. I've got to remove the lens unit anyway, so I'll take a look at it. I'm also trying a firmware update to the camera module with the assistance of @brett8883. In my frustration, I ordered a new camera unit and cable anyway.

I 'resemble' that remark! My first radio when I was just 7 years old was a 1930's era, cathedral style Marconiphone radio. Sure wish I had held on to that one!!!

My first electronics project was to build a magnetizer-demagnetizer using a 5Y3 rectifier for the power supply. ;)

Cool! I started restoring them in 2008. The hobby ran its course, and now I'm into the drone thing. Still have about 6 console radios and couple of hundred tubes to sell to pay for my next drone!

I have no tube stuff left now. Did find a picture of my first radio on EBay - a model 253 Marconiphone ...

First station I heard was KDKA, Wheeling WV , the first commercial radio station in the USA - sorry for going off topic!
