I did a test with the new firmware and here are my results, before it would take me 2 min to get 12 satellites and ready to fly.

Try the Mavic 3 again tomorrow after it has been off for a few hours and report back. The drone retains information on where the satellites it locked on are located in the sky for a short period of time. Once that data clears out you will get a better indication of the improvement.

While your Mavic 3 was updating it still was looking for sats. Unless you let it sit for a period of hours after the update it will still boot up faster because of the stored info.

Exactly. It creates a false positive, if it is still not working well on a cold boot. Needs a completely cold boot test.

The issue is not the memory of the drone, but the fact that the GPS satellites are moving. When the drone is active, it takes this movement into account. A cold start recalibrates the GPS position where the satellites are at that moment.

It is a both a memory issue and a duration issue because the last recorded and stored location data has an expiration on it. On a warm boot, such as during a battery swap, or within a few hours, the data is still current enough to be used and adjusted. All warm boots are almost instantaneous under all FW.

The very definition of a cold boot is that the prior stored location data has completely expired, and is now no longer usable. The issue has always been the cold boots, requiring all new satellite acquisitions. Some are taking much longer than others.
