I fly Mavic3Pro with RC Pro and have FlyApp 1.13.9. I find it to be working fine and I have no issues whatsoever. Any reason I should update to 1.16?

According to DJI's release notes, you'll need to install the update if you plan to fly the DJI Flip.

Even if you don't own a Flip, updating is still beneficial, as it allows you to take advantage of the latest improvements and fixes.

Thanks for the reply. I do not intend to fly the Flip and after experiencing issues with v.14.x I rolled back to 13.9. I am a bit hesitant to update so more than anything I wanted to hear if there is anything in v.16 worthy updating for M3P user.

The challenge with DJI software and firmware updates is that they often lack detailed information about the changes they include. Even for the changes they do list, the explanations can be vague, leaving users with only those limited details provided in the release notes.

DJI Fly updates are typically uneventful for most users, which is why I recommended updating to the latest version.

What issues did you encounter with version 14.x that made you roll back to a previous release?

Histogram not working, camera settings in bottom right corner not showing up after tapping on the Pro symbol, so I could not change any settings

The usual update says “fixed some known issues”. What it should add is: “introduced new, unknown issues.”
So true. It has been hit and miss from DJI lately with the FlyApp updates, that is for sure. I am glad that they allowed rolling back or as they call it "uninstall updates" and that is exactly what I did with the 14.xx. I am happy to sit on the 13.9 and will remain there, for now at least.

I have the DJI RC controller and I am running Fly app v 1.13.12 and I am not prompted to update to any other version. I am in the US. Am I missing something?
You will only be prompted to update if you are connect to internet via WiFi with your RC Pro. If you do not get the prompt once WiFi connection is established and you are on-line, turn the RC Pro off and on again. You should then see the prompt. In terms of new or any useful features you are not missing anything.

If I use DJI Assistant 2, should thst not also work.

I did as you recommended, no joy, still will not prompt for update

It does not not always work with Assistant 2. But you are not missing anything important in terms of new features if you stay where you are. You can try to go through Profile on Main screen then Settings and next to About will be a red dot. Click on it and prompt to update should come up.

One issue I noticed with the new version is that you can no longer livestream from the controller without an external microphone. It gives now you a message that there is "no built in mic in current device. Connect to external mic before livestream to improve streaming quality". If you click ok it will not start the stream. As soon as you connect a microphone, then it start working. This is new behavior.

This is a great example of what DJI does regularly with updates. Implements hidden and completely undesirable "new feature" and failing to declare it in the release notes. Moral of this story: Unless your (drone) life depends on it, DO NOT update anything!

He said that has a Dji RC, not RC Pro, and no updates for this controller.

This FlyApp update is for all Android based controllers.
I'm sorry, but it's not true, the Dji RC don't follow the apgrade of the Ios/Android app, it's a closed system. Only a firmware upgrade of the controller change the version of the app. This upgrade is for the Dji Flip that is not supported from the Dji RC.

I got a Mavic Mini in March 2020, a mate set it up for me, it has never been updated since then, have never had the slightest problem with this drone, I love it..

There were no doubts improvements made via FW or Fly App updates such as introduction of waypoints for example and many other nifty features were gradually developed and implemented. But since the updates to Fly App were mostly made to accommodate newly released drones or to comply with new rules and regulations, programing mistakes were made and bugs started to creep in. And that has become fairly common with these recent updates. If you do not need the new features or do not fly commercially there is not really any compelling reason to keep updating.
