Because regulations vary from country to country, etc.... and the latter because it is the pilot’s responsibility to comply with laws.

Too bad I didn't know all this before I forked out the cash to buy this boat anchor.
Now I have to figure out how to get rid of it. Throw it into the back of my closet I suspect.

@Tonyzak ,i can understand some of your frustration to a point ,unfortunately when you watch all of the fantastic wonderful videos and reviews on the web ,most of them are doing their best to convince you of the merits of this or that particular drone make and model
and as you have found out very few of them mention any of the extras that are needed to fly a drone successfully, and to be fair its often after the initial purchase ,that you realise that you need this that and the other ,drone flying as a hobby requires ,having the free time to indulge in it ,and also having a basic knowledge of the rules for taking to the air ,and unless you are really enthusiastic ,about RC ,then its probably better to get a small gimbal mounted camera and use that for recording pics and video ,i hope you dont just throw it in to the back of your closet
