New Mavic 2 Pro won’t link with my old controller

I recently crashed my drone and received a new one via DJI. I have the controller from my original Mavic 2 Pro but I cannot get it to link to my new drone. I tried to link by pressing the link button but the light stays red. I am following directions from the manual to link but I feel like I may be missing something here. Thanks in advance for any input!

I pressed on the camera icon on the screen which took me into the controller menu. I scrolled down to the bottom and it said link controller but nothing happened.

Take a close look at the link button on the Mavic, might have become detached by pushing it to hard, and now the connection is lost. That happened to someone else and he had to send it in for repair... Good luck!
