I have had my Mavic Pro for about a month and can fly reasonably well.
But trying to use Samsung Tab T805 is not good
How do I change the transmission rate from the drone to a lower one instead of 4K

Hi. Am in Qld also. You speaking about the video recording of 4K? If yes and you want to change, would be a good idea to go to the Mavic manual regarding camera settings. cheers.

I didn't think the live transmission was 4K, even if the drone was set to record in 4K. I thought it topped out at 1080p...

Welcome to MavicPilots from Dayton Ohio USA! The default is 720p video transmission. But if you go to the 'HD' section in the settings of Go4 - you can switch to 1080p. Fly safe and have fun!

Lately I have been using WIFI mode and just the tablet to control the drone, and what you see on the screen is clear and crisp. Have only done short flights, ie. no more than a couple of hundred meters away. It is different using the tablet to fly instead of the RC, but at least I can see where I'm going.

I have recently purchased a Samsung S9 and connected it to the controller and DJI Pro 4 GO and it all just works perfectly, very clear picture and all good.
